I agree, but to me even the style seemed to offer more than it did, only to make the outcome even harsher. I hope never to read any book like that again.

The Song of Kahunsha was harsh. The no arms/no legs guy haunted me. I still loved the writing, for all its brutality.

Everybody is telling me so, but I have not got to that one yet (I’ve only recently discovered Gaiman, and I’ve read and enjoyed Neverwhere and American Gods), so I have very big expectations, now…

Joy — sorry for the disappointment. Others seem to have liked it, though.
BTW, I’ve finished the challenge, still have to write one last review… and to visit others’ reviews (which I neglected to do up to now). Thanks, it was good.

Oh, I was so excited when I saw that you read the Bryson Shakespeare book - but very disappointed when I read that it didn’t have any of his typical humor. Thank you for the heads-up. I think I’ll pass on this one.

Diana — One review is already up here and a second one is coming soon, although I’ve already strayed from my original list
I’m looking forward to reading your review to Living Homes, that’s a book that I find most appealing, but I fear it may be too technical.
